HC trashes Hanoian talent team (1-0), by Paulo Roberto Falcao

Hanoi Capitals back on track with 1-0 victory!

After the disappointing third place in the Hanoi League, HC management have set new targets which will lift the teams spirits and make everybody fit and self confident before this summers World Cup bonanza. For the saturday game Captain Denise "Mad Bugger Madsen" decided for a strong defence, and thus sacrified the teams attacking capabilities by placing the four most offensive players in defence. Not exactly a textbook manoeuvre but things actually went well in the first half, with high ball possession and smart passes.

Mid way through first half star quality midfielder Peter Dickweed scored on a header from the kick off spot . . . . . never have yours truly seen such a bizarre goal. It must be admitted that the goal keeper must take his part of the blame. Anyway, 10 points for the new and improved Midfield Marshall Diggers for even thinking of heading on goal from 50 yards distance. Diggers proved to be a great threat to the opposing team during the whole first half . . . . and with Mum and Dad on the sideline there was only a few dry eyes left on Thui Loi Stadium.

The team and the match lost some momentum in the second half, where the referee thanked for his 25 pct. pay raise by disallowing a goal and converting a clear penalty into a free kick 4 meters from goal. Young talented Claus Klinsmann was awarded 45 minutes up front, and thanked for the captains confidence by rocketing a few headers . . . unfortunately more towards the moon than towards goal! Nonetheless, it seems obvious that Klinsmann will play same position next week!

The match ended 1-0 and HC are back on the right track. The day ended with an almost full squad entering Finnegans for loads of pints, before people slipped out in the Hanoian dusk to perform even greater things . . .
